La Nature à l’oeil Nu — CNRS Editions

  • “In some languages like Quechua or Wolof, there is no word to designate nature. As if the populations in regular contact with it did not see the point of numbering, unlike us, Westerners, mostly urban. But when we talk about “nature”, what exactly are we talking about? Nature – all living things on Earth – is not just about species names, numbers and extinction curves. It is a community of beings who live with each other, sometimes against each other. If we can imagine nature without humans, the opposite is impossible.

Nature is neither our friend nor our enemy, but it is the foundation of our life and of many aspects of its quality.

In this book, Anne-Caroline Prévot investigates our multiple relationships with nature and suggests that we reconnect with it, by all possible paths, even if it means mobilizing science fiction to think about and finally build desirable futures for all.

From 15 to 95 years old, this collection aims to transmit knowledge in a simple and lively way.
